Tuna Burgers

This dish is borrowed from a very old kids cook book I have, that my step daughter is now discovering. She has made the following dish for the family & loved it, plus it beats having normal burgers.

Serves 3 to 6 People

2 Burgers  = 3 People
6 Burgers  = 6 People

Utensils

6 Small Paper Bags (that can be used in oven)
Knife
Fork
Spoon
Strainer
Bowl
Baking  Tray

Ingredients

6 Hamburger Buns
Butter
185 grams Tin of Tuna
Half Cup Grated Cheese
1 Small Onion
3 Tablespoons Mayonnaise
Salt and Pepper

Method

Turn oven to moderate ( 180 Celsius or 350 Fahrenheit), grate cheese, chop onion, cut buns in half, buttering each half. Drain the tuna well, flake it with a fork. Put tuna in bowl, stir in cheese, onion and Mayonnaise. Add salt and pepper, divide tuna mixture into six lots. Spread evenly over lower half of each bun. Put top on buns, putting each burger into a paper bag. Put onto baking tray heat in oven for 15 minutes to 20 minutes.

Enjoy, if you & your kids make these please come back and let me know what you think of them.

This recipe was taken from the book Junior Cook Book 2 by Mary Pat Fergus

  1. Oooh, this sounds yummy. We often make home-made burger patties (and I always hide loads of vegies in there). My kids also like tuna or salmon potato cakes. Can't wait to try this recipe, thanks for sharing!

  3. They loved it, except mine chose to have the burgers in wraps instead (only because they are not big bread eaters). Yummy!
